The Data-Backed Answer Stowe Gregory Aug 19 7 min read Bamboo Cutlery & Plates: Benefits, Cost, Durability & Buying Guide Lauren Rice Aug 13 8 min read Plastic Detox and Earth Brands Are Changing the Food Service Game With Compostable Tableware Nicole Braganza Aug 6 4 min read Sustainability Last Updated: 02/26/2025 At Plastic Detox, we are committed to promoting environmental sustainability through our business practices and product offerings. Our sustainability policy encompasses the following key areas: 1. Plastic-Free Commitment Our goal is to offer products that are at least 90% plastic-free, ensuring sustainability without compromising functionality. While being completely plastic-free is ideal, in some cases, plastic is the most sustainable option due to its lightweight nature and water resistance, which can lower transportation emissions and extend product lifespan. However, we are constantly seeking innovative, non-plastic alternatives to improve sustainability in every aspect. 2. Sustainable Sourcing We carefully select products made from renewable, biodegradable, and compostable materials, ensuring that our offerings align with a circular economy. By partnering with like-minded suppliers, we help drive demand for plastic-free innovations and sustainable business practices. 3. Packaging We prioritize sourcing products from manufacturers that provide plastic-free packaging. However, we acknowledge that some items arrive with plastic wrapping from suppliers. In such cases, we believe that replacing existing plastic packaging may lead to unnecessary waste. Instead, we focus on providing feedback to our suppliers and exercising control over aspects within our reach, striving to collaborate with brands dedicated to reducing plastic usage throughout their operations. 4. Tree Planting Trees are one of the best natural carbon capture solutions. That’s why we’ve partnered with the nonprofit One Tree Planted to offset any plastic or waste associated with our products. A portion of every sale is donated to plant trees, helping to support global reforestation efforts and reduce our environmental impact. 5. Plastic Waste Reduction Minimizing plastic waste is a core aspect of our sustainability efforts. We implement measures to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials within our operations. This includes optimizing packaging solutions, encouraging customers to choose reusable products whenever possible. 6. Community Engagement & Giving Back Sustainability is not just about the planet—it’s also about supporting people. That’s why we donate a portion of every sale to a local food bank that provides meals for individuals and families in need. We also donate plastic-free single-use products to ensure that those who rely on disposable tableware can access sustainable options without financial burden. 7. Recognized by the Colorado Green Business Network Plastic Detox is proud to be a recognized member of the Colorado Green Business Network for both 2023 and 2024. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, waste reduction, and responsible business practices. Through our efforts, we continue to improve our environmental impact and support the transition to a cleaner, greener economy. At Plastic Detox, our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our business. We continuously evaluate and enhance our practices to ensure they align with our environmental values and the expectations of our conscientious customers. Thank you for being part of the plastic-free movement! Return Policy Last updated: 2/26/25 At Plastic Detox, we strive to provide quality products and exceptional service to our customers. Through continuous innovation and expansion of our product line, we make it easy for organizations and individuals to break free from plastic waste and adopt lasting, sustainable habits. Sustainable Supplies. Sourced Around Your Business. Plastic Detox is an online supplier and sourcing partner helping foodservice businesses move away from single-use plastics. Shop our growing catalog of sustainable supplies, or request a quote for a product you can't find, and we'll source it, compare pricing, and get it to you. Why We Started Plastic Detox We started Plastic Detox because we saw how little most people understand about the plastic pollution problem: how much of it is single-use, how much is avoidable, and how few convenient alternatives most businesses have. We originally built this brand around consumer products, but it didn't take long to see where the greater opportunity was: foodservice. Restaurants, caterers, and food businesses go through disposable products by the thousands every day, which means even a small shift in sourcing can create a meaningful impact. That's the business we built: a sourcing partner dedicated to helping foodservice businesses reduce their reliance on single-use plastic, without adding complexity to their operations. Shop Online, or Let Us Source It for You Our online store carries cups, lids, plates, utensils, takeout containers, and more, but we're not limited to what's listed on the site. If you need a specific product, a particular quantity, or a price point we don't currently offer, let us know. We'll research the market, compare options, and work with manufacturers across the U.S. to find the right fit for your business. If you already know what you need, shop online. If you're not sure, we're happy to help you figure it out. Shop Products Request a Quote Why Food Service Businesses Choose Plastic Detox We do the research, so you don't have to. We stay current on products, materials, and manufacturers, so you always know what's available. We look beyond our own catalog. If you don't see what you need listed, ask us, and we'll find it for you. We negotiate on your behalf, drawing on our supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing. We make sustainability approachable. You don't need to become an expert in compostable materials; we're glad to walk you through it. We're a small business, which means you're always working with real people who understand your business and are invested in getting it right. Our Commitment to Sustainability Plastic Detox has been recognized by the Colorado Green Business Network in 2023, 2024, and 2025 for our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. Our mission goes beyond selling sustainable products. We're here to help businesses find practical, affordable ways to move away from single-use plastic. Business With a Bigger Purpose A portion of every Plastic Detox purchase supports SECOR Cares, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit addressing food insecurity in our community. When you purchase from us, you're supporting both a healthier planet and a stronger community. Let's Find What Your Business Needs Every business we work with is taking a step away from single-use plastic, whether that's switching a single product or rethinking their entire supply chain. We'd like to help you take that step too. Browse our catalog to see what's available today, or reach out and tell us what you're trying to solve. We'll take it from there.
