What are your utensils made from?
Our utensils are crafted from renewable, plant-based materials. Bamboo utensils are sturdy, naturally renewable, and biodegradable, while our compostable utensils are made from PLA (a plant-based bioplastic) that has the look and feel of conventional plastic. All materials are food-safe and designed to provide the same functionality as traditional disposable cutlery.
Are your utensils compostable, recyclable, or biodegradable? What’s the difference?
Most of our compostable utensils are BPI-certified, meaning they’re guaranteed to break down in commercial composting facilities into natural materials, typically within 90–180 days. Bamboo utensils are naturally biodegradable and can also be composted at home. “Biodegradable” is a broader term that simply means the utensil will eventually break down, but certified compostable products meet specific testing standards to ensure predictable decomposition. Some utensils may also be recyclable depending on your local facilities, but composting remains the most sustainable disposal method.
Can these utensils handle hot and cold foods?
Yes! Our bamboo and compostable utensils are designed to hold up under a range of temperatures. All of our utensils are strong enough for hearty dishes like pasta, rice bowls, or desserts. Both options are designed to provide reliable performance without bending or breaking during use.
Can I order samples before making a larger purchase?
Absolutely! We offer samples so you can test the strength, appearance, and performance of our utensils before committing to a full order. It’s a great way to ensure they work well with your menu and match your brand’s eco-friendly standards.
How should I dispose of these utensils after use?
The best way to dispose of our utensils is through a commercial composting facility, where they’ll break down into nutrient-rich soil. If composting isn’t available, they can go to landfill, but composting is always the most eco-friendly option. Check local composting and recycling guidelines to ensure proper disposal.
